Do you have feral cats or know of a feral cat community? If so, this FREE program is for you!
Through our TNR (Trap / Neuter / Return) program, we ensure colonies dramatically reduce kitten births and as a result, all colony cats lead healthier and better quality lives.
Community cat colonies can benefit the community by keeping the rodent population in check. If you are aware of community / feral cats, please contact us. We would love to help!
In conjunction with this program, we have a feral food pantry that, with the help of colony managers, helps feed nearly 500 cats — every single day!

Our Uber Kitty Program takes in owner-surrendered cats and kittens until they are ready for adoption. Surrendered cats and kittens stay at our shelter, Molly's Place, or with our volunteer foster families. Cañon City-based kittens born into feral colonies (those young enough to be socialized) also have the opportunity to be adopted as pets into loving homes.
All adoptions are facilitated through our rescue partners across Colorado. Our carefully selected and licensed partners adhere to our rigorous standards of care so we know the cats and kittens are in excellent hands on their way to their forever homes!
All of our rescue partners are PACFA* licensed, have been thoroughly reviewed by us, and are visited regularly to ensure they offer a safe and enriching environment to give the cat his/her best opportunity to find a forever home. Our partners never euthanize for population control and are generally located in metropolitan areas where there is a larger population of adoptive homes.
JJ's provides this service at no cost to the cat owner but we do kindly ask that you consider a donation, if possible. We offer this service for free because we know it is in the best interest of the cat and the cat owner.
* The Pet Animal Care Facilities Act (PACFA) is a licensing and inspection program dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of animals in pet care facilities throughout Colorado.
We strive to match surrendered senior cats with local senior fosters. And, to help mitigate the costs involved with pet ownership, JJ's pays for the food, litter, & basic medical care for the life of our senior foster kitties.
